DiMedical Laboratory, based on the latest achievements in the field of analytical chemistry (mass spectrometry), has developed an innovative method to detect tuberculosis mycobacteria directly from clinical material (without the need for long-term multiplication). The method is based on a sensitive and specific detection of mycobacterial cell wall elements, which constitute a kind of molecular „fingerprint” unique for each microorganism. Thanks to this, it is possible not only to sensitive detection of mycobacterial tuberculosis cells (50 cells / mL), but also to determine their strain and drug susceptibility. Diagnostics will be reduced from 4 weeks to 3 hours! This revolutionary technique will help shorten the diagnostic process not only in Poland, but above all in the world.
